About
It was established in 1935 under the name of the high Institute for musical development in the image of attached department at the Institution of Education for girls in Zamalek, 1942 Then all the high art institutions for girls were included in one Institute, and this became one of many other instituts under the name of High Institute of art teacher in Boulaq. In 1947, it became an independent under the named of "The higher Institute for music" and was affiliated to the Ministry of public knowledge , and became affiliated to the Ministry of higher education in 1962 . Musical education was restricted to girls without boys until the early fifties when the Institute was established to teach music to boys in 1951, and in 1964 both Institutes included in one Institute on behalf of the " higher Institute for music ", and added to Helwan University as the Faculty of music education.
