About
Laying the foundation stone for the establishment of the Faculty of Medicine for Girls when the Council of Al-Azhar University decided in 1964 to establish a department for the study of medicine and surgery, and was affiliated to the College of Girls. In 1965 the study began and the rest of the academic departments were completed. 1971 Graduate studies began in all departments affiliated with the College. In 1979, according to Republican Decree No. 116 of 1979, the Department of Medicine and Surgery was transformed into an independent college and then expanded.
